Faculty & Supervisors

Faculty and supervisors, working with the Department of Environmental Health and Safety have the primary responsibility for ensuring a safe working, learning and living environment.

Who is a supervisor?

Supervisors (including, but not limited to, Associate Vice Presidents, Directors, Deans, Department Heads, Managers, Principle Investigators, etc.) are faculty and staff members that direct or oversee a person, group, department, organization, or operation for the University.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Supervisors are accountable for ensuring their workers, researchers or students have received training needed to perform their work safely. In addition, supervisors establish a culture of safety within their work place by performing hazard assessments and assisting their personnel in maintaining compliance with University Safety policies and procedures.
