Long-Term Disability Insurance


All regular or fixed-term full-time employees are eligible for this benefit. Coverage will be effective on the first day of the fourth month following the date of hire.

This coverage replaces 60% of basic monthly earnings (after an initial disability of 90 continuous days) to a monthly maximum benefit of $5,000 subject to offset by other income.

Rensselaer pays 100% of the cost of the premium. At time of eligibility or during an open enrollment period, current or new participants may buy additional coverage to increase the benefit to 66 2/3% percent of basic monthly earnings to a maximum benefit of $7,500.
