Oversees HR policies and procedures; Hartford HR services; conflict of interest issues; Rensselaer's Affirmative Action Program; performance-related issues; disciplinary action; exit interviews; complaint investigations; and the coordination and delivery of staff professional development courses.
Environmental Health and Safety/Risk Management
Environmental, Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHS&RM)
The Environmental, Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHS&RM) department supports a collaborative partnership with faculty, staff and students by providing advice and technical guidance on occupational, environmental, health and safety and risk management issues.
Compensation and Employment
Assists with issues regarding faculty and staff salary administration; position clarification; career ladders; performance management; compliance; executive compensation; recruitment plans; employment application processes; sourcing, screening, and interviewing internal and external candidates; new hire processing; extensions and re-hires; independent contractor classification; and non-resident alien work authorization for faculty and staff compliance.
Benefits and Retirement
Offers assistance regarding faculty and staff health and welfare plans; retirement; tuition scholarship requests; leaves of absence; Rensselaer's Wellness Program; workers' compensation; ID cards; Rensselaer Computing System (RCS) accounts; employment transaction forms; and custom and routine reporting.
