Staff Performance - RPI MAX!

RPI MAX - Maximizing Achievement and eXcellence

We are reimagining our approach to staff performance management to align more closely with our goals for continuous growth and development. This transformation will shift the mindset from annual reviews to more dynamic, ongoing conversations between employees and managers.

RPI MAX Initiative Updates

  • Incorporate and encourage continuous and ongoing meaningful feedback and coaching throughout the year.
  • Align performance expectations, behaviors and goals with Institute competencies, values, and strategic initiatives.
  • Focus on the professional growth and development of individual employees in service of the strategic goals and business needs of Rensselaer.
  • Provide an efficient, easily accessible, and transparent process while maintaining individual accountability.
  • Create the foundation for defining and recognizing exemplary performance and mission-aligned behavior.

  • Work is underway to build the new PageUp Performance platform for staff, which will transition our process from paper to online performance evaluations and will support continuous conversations, and mission-aligned behavior.
  • This platform will include similar components to the current evaluation however, it will allow for the development of cascading goals, quarterly check-ins, journaling by employees and managers, and up to date, online access by all.
