Important Notice: NY Paid Prenatal Leave

Starting January 1, 2025, New York became the first state to offer paid time off for prenatal care and pregnancy-related medical needs. Under this policy, employees who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant receive an additional 20 hours of paid leave for prenatal medical care.  You can access Rensselaer’s updated Paid Time Off Policy 1300.8 HERE.

 

Managers and supervisors are encouraged to attend a webinar on Thursday, February 20th at 11:00 am to learn about administering the Paid Prenatal Leave Policy.  Elizabeth Brown-Goyette, Manager of Employee Relations & Title IX, will provide an overview of the new law, followed by a Q&A session.
