Re: New Title IX Regulations
On May 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education released its Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The new federal regulations go into effect today, August 14, 2020, and will impact how colleges and universities across the nation respond to allegations of sexual harassment involving faculty, staff, and students. Rensselaer, in the implementation of the U.S. Department of Education's amendments to Title IX, has combined New York State Education Law Article 129 A and B, and New York State Human Rights Law within the revised Sexual Misconduct Policy of the Institute. I encourage all faculty, staff, and students at Rensselaer to access our updated Title IX website to read and understand the updated Sexual Misconduct Policy of Rensselaer and the new regulations that have been implemented.
