Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provides an additional benefit if a Rensselaer employee dies, or loses their sight, hearing, speech, or limbs in an accident.

Supplemental Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Employees may also elect to purchase accidental death and dismemberment insurance for themselves and their dependents. This coverage can provide the employee and their spouse an additional $10,000 to $350,000 accidental death and dismemberment benefit, and your dependent children under age 26 with 10% of the employee’s benefit, up to $25,000.

As a benefit enhancement, 24-hour, year-round emergency assistance is available for Rensselaer employees and their covered dependents when traveling 100 or more miles from home. Just one phone call puts the traveler in contact with an international network of professionals providing medical, informational, legal, and personal assistance.

Rensselaer employees may enroll in the supplemental life insurance program within 30 days from their date of hire, 30 days of a qualifying event, or during Rensselaer’s annual open enrollment period.

More detailed information is available in the Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment Plan brochure, as provided by Zurich of North America Insurance.
